Notably, he played a central role in the €7.6 billion divestment of Bayer’s seed assets to BASF, managing everything from deal scoping and data room prep to management presentations and post-merger integration.
His expertise spans the seed, biotech, and crop protection sectors, with a focus on helping companies make tough decisions, unlock growth potential, and scale sustainably. Whether developing go-to-market strategies, securing international licensing agreements, or coaching leadership teams through structural shifts, Hodges is known for bringing clarity and executional rigor to every mandate.
His impact has been felt across the industry. He built seed businesses exceeding $1 billion in annual sales, grew revenues from $10 million to over $150 million through strategic alliances with firms like Cargill and Monsanto, and captured over 60% market share in the North American canola seed market.
