Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has topped the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 in Agriculture & Forestry, earning top marks in employability, research impact, and academic reputation. The top 10 includes universities from the U.S., Europe, and China, with UC Davis and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in second and third place. In total, 36 European institutions made it into the top 100, with strong showings from Germany, the UK, France, and the Nordics.

Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has ranked the number one in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025: Agriculture & Forestry.
With an overall score of 98/100, WUR scored 100 in Employability, 91.6 in International Research Network, and scored high in Research and Development — H-index Citations (100), Citations per Paper (92.1) and Academic Reputation (100).
The Top 10
The remaining top 10 were institutions based in Europe, the U.S. and China. The University of California, Davis came in second with an overall score of 91, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences scored 87.5 for the third spot. Rounding out the top 10 were: China Agricultural University (85.9), Cornell University in the U.S. (83.8), Purdue University in the U.S. (83.4), ETH Zurich (82.1), Ghent University in Belgium (82), University of California, Berkeley (80), and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (79.8).
The Top 100
According to the report, institutions in the top 100 are in Europe, the U.S., Canada, China, Australia, Japan, Pakistan, Brazil, South Korea, Indonesia, Malasia, Thailand, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and South Africa. Europe fared well in the top 100, with 36 universities listed.
